Telelogic signs a memorandum
of understanding with the SEIC.

Telelogic & researchers at the SEIC to share expertise in systems engineering
with a view to stimulating collaborative R&D
The SEIC and Telelogic shall work together to exchange information in the areas
of systems engineering and related subjects with a view to stimulating the collaboration
on a variety of areas including; engineering standards, data and business modeling,
product evaluation, technical demonstrators and academic teaching. The objective
being to advance the collective understanding across the chosen research themes
for the benefit of all partners, customers and stakeholders shared by the organizations.
This collaboration will, it is also envisaged, extend to the wider UK SME market
place via the facilities provided at the SEIC in Loughborough and create an
environment where access to advanced tools and training is provided in state
of the art facilities.
“This is another flagship collaboration for the SEIC that is unique in
the UK, particularly within the defence and aerospace marketplace,” said
Peter Philips, management head of the SEIC. “Through such a collaboration
across the supply chain - between BAE Systems, Telelogic and Loughborough University
- on research addressing very complex, evolving and demanding systems and capabilities,
the SEIC will continue to establish itself as the national centre of excellence
in systems engineering attracting the interest of other potential partners,
as well as external funding and support.”
“By using Telelogic tools, such as DOORS, TAU and SYNERGY, coupled to
domain expertise within the company, the researchers at the SEIC will have a
platform to assess ‘real world’ solutions for developing new systems
engineering practices,” said Anders Lidbeck, president and CEO of Telelogic.”
“Jointly leveraging intellect and knowledge is what this partnership is
all about,” said Ayman El-Fatatry, business development manager at the
SEIC. “By collaborating for a common purpose, we are confident that we
can make many advances that benefit the systems engineering community, not only
in the UK, but world wide.”
“I am really pleased that we have been chosen by the SEIC to partner with
them in this exciting research venture”, said Nick Bradshaw, Telelogic
Global Account Director for BAE Systems. Bradshaw went onto say, “The
team at the SEIC has a clear vision of what they want to achieve to serve the
needs of not only BAE Systems but the wider engineering community in which we
are all active. This venture will help strengthen the already excellent relationship
we have developed with BAE Systems over the last 10 years”.
